We had listed Fusion Spice as one of the 5 restaurants to check out in Abuja in 2016. So when a friend said she was going to there to check it out, I figured I would tag along since it was hunger o’ clock.

The waitress was super nice and cheerful, despite the fact that I was a little unsure what to do; she made some recommendations and seemed quite knowledgeable of the menu. They don’t serve alcohol (it’s not healthy duh) or soda or even wine. I eventually settled for the freshly squeezed juice: apple, orange and ginger (N800).

For food, I ordered the Fusion Platter: Prawn tempura, chicken wings, chicken and beef skewers with plantain balls (N2500). I was a bit worried about the portion sizes but the waitress assured me it would be fine.

It took about 10-15 minutes to get my food, they served it on like a lunch tray that reminded me of high school in the US (shudders). I really liked the prawn tempura and the chicken skewers, I am not sure what sauce they dipped the skewers in but it was finger licking good, kind of tasted like Worcestershire sauce. Only thing is one of my skewers had a part not cooked all the way through, carnivore woes. The wings were just there, they were breaded but no kind of seasoning on it. Plantain was delish but its plantain so yea.

Would I go back? Definitely, it’s a super cute arrange and the way my friend was raving about the lamb chops..i gotta try em. Fair warning, do not go there with a large crowd unless you guys plan on sitting outside. Fusion Spice is bomb. I am a fan.
