Sweet potato porridge is simply divine.
That and the karaoke here makes it worth coming.
Otherwise, like many restaurants in this country, the service isn't that great. Showed up and they told us there was no bread and so we couldn't have any of their burgers. How on earth can there be no bread??! The list went on (and of course they only wait until you've ordered to tell you what's missing) There's no burger. No peppered beef. No ofadaa rice. No desserts
Haba! Only the karaoke made me feel better
For ambiance, this place can't be beat. You almost feel like you're in a Caribbean getaway as you dine poolside and feel the warm breeze on your face.
As for the food, it's not that special.
Mozzarella sticks cheese not fresh
Calamari is more bread than octopus. You'll struggle to taste the fish
Service was ok. Waiters didn't bother to clear plates from first course before bringing next course.
Beef Shawarma is not tasty at all. Probably better to eat shawarma on the streets So shame on me for ordering that.
Seafood pasta is too spicy. granted they warn you but still!
Chapman is fantastic though.
This might be a great place during the week. But I went for their Sunday buffet. Big mistake.
Cold tasteless food. Very underwhelming for 10k a person. Tried ordering off the menu and was served with chicken wings that were raw and undercooked. Actually bloody inside. Avoid the chicken wings if you don't like blood :-(
I think I'm in love. They have actually good Chapman, not the watered down crap So many other places serve. Though I wanted to order the jerk chicken and they didn't have any, I was easily placated by the other delicious selections. Please order the snails. They're so soft and buttery, they just melt in your mouth. The chef clearly knows what he's doing. Then bite into the delicious thiebou jen. Absolutely perfect thiebou jen. It beats jollof rice hands down any day! Don't withdraw my Nigerian citizenship for saying it o but this is the superior dish by far!
Loved it. What could be better than food and art? The food was great! Get the large fish dish, I forget what it's called. But it's yummy! Pass on the palm wine though, it tasted very strange. Like it had spoilt.
Service was a bit poor. The server girls forgot to give us many of the dishes we ordered. By the time the bill came they forgot to remove it from the bill.
Nice for ambiance and all. But the prices! Me oh my! Almost passed out when we saw the bill! The samosa snacks were delicious! Couldn't stop eating them, but like I said it is expensive ooooooo
Hans And René is expensive but awesome!
Really poor service at Sao Cafe! I expected more. My goodness - need to fix up. WIfi didn't even work well.
Was at oriental garden for dinner today and the food was not great. Maybe I went on a bad day (Chef day off). The meat was so tough that to eat. Expected more tasty food. I don't understand how the Chinese food here is so bad. The only positive was that the service was actually good.
Had the chicken shawarma and definitely wasn't the best. My go to joint is now mega plaza shawarma
Heard about this cafe from a co-worker. The space is small but good atmosphere. Coffee is expensive. They have free WiFi which actually works - got some work done. Will have to come back to try the pastries
This is the probably the closet thing to fine dining for African food in Lagos. The food will challenge your perception of the Nigerian dishes you are used to eating. The new brunch menu is also very good.
Art Cafe is one of my most favourite places in Lagos. The decor is unique and well presented. It is like you transformed into a different world far away from hustle and bustle of Lagos. Note this is not a Nigeria's Starbuck - go to Cafe Neo if you want that. They have good a selection of coffee/teas and food menu is not bad either. Free wifi which you can use to get some work done.
Great place to have authentic India and Chinese cuisines. This is not really a fusion restaurant, they have 2 distinct menus for each. I have slight preference for the Indian food. It cost aroud ₦15K for me and my friend. Customer service is really good. The ambience makes it feel like a Buddha Temple. It turns into a nightclub late at night.
Just ok really. The food is nothing to sing praises about but it's just what you need when you're waiting for yet another "delayed by 3 hours" Arik flight at the airport and your stomach is going to eat itself and you don't want to be disgraced by the growling.
Mainly fast food like meat pies, sausage rolls, jollof rice etc.
Very expensive. But that's what happens at the airport. More money will always be charged for basic items.
The space is cozy and clean which is very good. The staff was quite helpful (which is rare for Nigeria). The main girl could recite the menu off head which impressed me. They directly compete with the restaurant next door so they want to make a good impression
